As I mentioned some time ago, we have been working on trying to find raid opportunities for our guild members. Now the talks have gotten far enough for us to start raiding! This week, on Friday 29th we will start our trial raid co-operation with the guild Dogs of War. If things go well, it will hopefully become a permanent thing. The Dogs are hoping to get 2 kara runs filled at the same time. They have around 14-17 sign ups for a given day and the idea would be for us to help them fill the remaining spots. Of course there is no gurantee of getting a 2nd raid together every week, so that is a small but. We will just have to se how things develop. So, this Friday, raid starts at 20:00, invites already after 19:00, because there will be some hastle due to this being a new thing. Important info:Loot sytem: needers need and everyone plays nice =) Teamspeak is used for communication. Get it and make sure you have addons working, tactics read etc. See what Grail posted about mandatory addons: mistrunnertribe.proboards102.com/index.cgi?board=discuss&action=display&thread=357&page=1Show up in great numbers and if you can't make it this week but would like to join for next week, let me know!

Teamspeak is the thing that makes you use microfone and say something? Is it obligatory?

Suggested, at least. For some reason I haven't been able to make my TS work for some time (probably firewall severing the connection, but I can't really lower the settings either). The important thing is to hear the raid leader's commands, though, so microphone isn't necessary.

Anyway, this thing of hearing other people and speaking when playing kind of spoils the game, making it a to serious procedure.. But well, maybe I will get this to listen to raid leader.. Have to be using headphones though, I guess my wife would kill me if she keeps hearing some unknown guy saying strange things

Anyway, I'll prolly be around, and if so, I'll let it be known that I can: Offtank, ranged DPS and heal as part of the 2 man healing team.

Scye, that Taur nu Fuin raid you took part in was a good example why you should get teamspeak. You would have known what to do when. If orders are given in voice chat, don't expect them to be repeated in /raid. Besides, consider us guests in their raid. We don't just walk in and start making the rules. If you don't want to aggree to the rules, don't join. Noone is forcing you to talk, but you should listen. Many times you can avoid the annoying stuff by having faster reaction time and thus not having a seriour raid. And usually voice chat is heaps of fun anyways. Belive me, I was very sceptical of it too, but I really enjoy babbling in vent these days.

Well, I wouldn't like to call Kara raiding serious business (go ask any Forums and they'll say you that the place is nothing but a 2-hour badge farm, those damn T6 elitists >_>), but I'd like to think that buying headphones and downloading Teamspeak is a small sacrifice to get to do the places efficiently. Headphones with microphone has been great fun for me at least.
We did raid Karazhan, Gruul and ZA with Burning Dawn without any kind of voice chat, but it honestly gimped our team quite a bit. Especially on Prince where the whole team may need to move a lot and the tank stands against the wall, unable to see any of his surroundings, voice is the only way to get your message through. Sure, there's Raid Warnings, but in the heat of combat who has the time to notice those?
I still haven't managed to get my TS to work so I'll probably have to go without it. The good thing on my part is that I'm already used to the place.

Does this program work autonomously of WoW? I hope it won't lag me even more, with the already slow speed in the evenings.. Really, it's time to change my internet provider.

Yes, TS works autonomously from WoW, but it's not a bandwidth hog. My suggestion is to download VentrilloMix, that programme gives you Teamspeak, and 3 versions of Ventrillo. That way you're covered on all bases.
When I was raidleader (T4/T5 instances) I didn't demand that everyone had a mic, but I did demand that everyone could hear me. Worked a treat, specially in those mobile fights.

I'm working at that time on this Friday... And the next... And the one after that... But if I sometime happen to have morning shifts and no plans for a Friday night, I'd love to join. Don't hold your breath though, it's unlikely to happen anytime soon.

I don't know how well geared the Team 2 is, but I'm assuming they aren't fully Kara-epicced for still wanting to do the place. This means there's a high chance that we won't be able to finish the whole place on Friday and will continue on one of the next following days. This may leave some spots open if somebody won't be able to come to the Day 2 (like what happened last week, which is why I was recruited).
