I know Brownpaw stated something back in April very similar to this, but as of yesterday, there are now four semi-active Tauren "Tribe" guilds on Defias Brotherhood, but Tauren RP seems to be lacking!
So having spoke with some of them in the RPHorde channel, the idea of a sort of Tauren Alliance was proposed; the guilds banding together (not into one guild, through) and RPing together, eventually opening Thunder Bluff up as a RP hub.
I mean seriously, 4 Tribe guilds each with a handful of currently active members? May sound cheap coming from me, seeing as I've been away for months, but ssh!
If we were to bond with these three other guilds, I can really see our RP, as well as Tauren RP on the server in general getting a much needed boost. I've been told if we got the ball rolling, Tauren from other guilds would be interested in coming to RP too.
Thoughts?

Could be nice, and there is even a channel TaurenRP already made, but deserted. Only one thing that I don't personally like is Thunder Bluff - I'd love more "countryside RP" instead of city RP. But it can still work, especially when I am not actually playing.

I completely agree with you. Countryside RP would be terrific.
Anyways, even if the idea was proposed and channel made today, we had a small gathering by the lake in Thunder Bluff. About 5 of us, plus a Troll. Was just a little thing, but something I've missed! Random RP in somewhere other than Silvermoon.
Anyways, what's everyone elses thoughts on this? I've told them we'll need officers' input before anything can be done.

If not for the dueling in Durotar I could just sit in TB by the pond 24/7. But about that countryside (of course I'm new to RP) but to me it sounds like it is something nice, but hard to get. You can make a city a place for RP more easily. Everyone knows where it is, you can take portals to it, you can fly to it. If you go on the country side, then you might have some at Camp Taurajo, some at the Crossroads, others at Bloodhoof village for example. Keep it in Thunder Bluff and you have three times the amount of people :-)

I didnt even know there was four tauren guilds around currently, I thought it was just mistrunner, grimtotem and Hellverns guild (which is mostly orcs).
The problem with having it in Thunder Bluff, is the same as having it in any capital city, an insane amount of lol based rpers, and OOC morons, if you have it in a leveling based area such as blood hoof village, you get new people jumping around during meetings who have no intrest in roleplaying.
And I shouldnt really mention it but we may have an IC reason soon, not to have an alliance with the other tribes mainly the grimtotem (those who have read cataclysm spoilers will know what I mean).

*VERY minor spoiler at the bottom of the post*
Well Thunderbluff was just a general idea. Nothing's been thought through fully yet as the idea only surfaced yesterday.
And aye, I've read the Cataclysm spoilers ;< I was tad skeptical of having them in at first, but I remembered a while back you posted something about having our meetings with them, so I thought it would be fine! I think it's safe to assume which "side" we're going with after the events in Cataclysm?

Well my chats with Araphea, im pretty sure Both orcs, and taurens will be fully against grimtotem as well as the SGE trolls due to some random argument, so yeah I dont think we will be supporting them much longer =P

I think the Grimtotem guild are a kind of horde-friendly part of the Grimtotem tribe. Though I personally would have made the guild a malicious one if I was creating it And I have no idea what "sides" you are speaking of.. I am not afraid of spoilers, just missed the whole thing. Can you explain? Is it about the presumed death of Cairne, or he doesn't die? Or whatever?

Right big spoilers here
*The grimtotems kill, Cairne and get branded traitors by Garrosh because of it, meaning that both the orcs, and mistrunners have a very valid reason for being pissed off*

Then you kick them out of the Tauren alliance when cataclysm comes, no? :-)

I've heard two stories to the Cairne assassination. Is that the official one?

I well understand why you are more for "countryside" RP. I too think it would in fact make more sense IC, but Mahon is right about one thing. Having a rp hub where people actually come to for other reasons, might give better chance for random rp without it being scheduled. Yes, there are tons of idiots visiting the bank and Ah. But do we need to stay next to them? There is a perfect gathering spot next to Cairne's tent (or what ever it will be when Cata comes). If you run into a random Grimtotem at the bank, take your rp to the highrise. =)
