Ah, Tropico was a marvellous game.
Too bad I gave my CD to someone and forgot to take it back, now I don't even know who has it.

Well, I think the game is Russian originally... So no wonder it has that version. I have a disk of Tropico - Pirate Island, which is basically same but in 16th century, but somehow it is not as interesting as the original game. I loved how it was a strategy with ability to deal with every citizen personally

I've always been after sea and sailing theme, and it occurred to me that maybe I could try a mmorpg of that sphere. Has anyone ever tried some of those? Maybe someone heard about those "Pirates of the Burning Sea"? When I hear a game has 4 servers as compared to WoW several hundred, it makes me suspicious. Can those low-populated mmorpgs be good in general? Edit: just found this - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uncharted_Waters_OnlineOh, why, why those ***** don't release it in English? Uncharted Waters 1&2 were my favourite games in 90s, but then they released next series only in Japanese/Korean. And this as well....

I've never tried any of those Piraty online games, so I wouldn't know if they are good. But it reminds me, that now that I have my old Commodore Amiga back, I should try out Sid Meyer's Pirates again. Probably one of the games I've spent the most time with ever.

I've downloaded something called "Bounty Bay", and it seems utter shit with awful graphics, terrible environment, bad english localisation (words divided in half at the end of line..), uncomprehensible gameplay, etc... Probably WoW set the standard too high for me. This game was fun from the first click.

I've deleted the Bounty Bay Bullshit and launched a download of Pirates of the Burning Sea before going to work. Judging by size (7 GB vs 1 GB of Bounty) and publisher (Sony) and being subscription-based only (Bounty could be played for free with less abilities) I hope it is much better. Let's see. P.S. Judging by the manual, it looks a lot like wow. P.P.S. the stupid downloader stopped and didn't relaunch while I was at work, making me swear aloud when I came home. I hate stupid computers Now 7 more hours..

Decided to finally sell my PS2 along with the games that were the main reason for me to buy the console in the first place, aka God of War 1&2. The fact that both of them are being 'remade' for PS3 did ease up the decision!
With the monies I got from that I bought more PS3 goodies. At the moment I'm most addicted to inFamous.

Did you try that Uncharted 2 game? They all says it's da zhizzle right now. I'm not very good at those kind of games though. I am more of a joystick guy then a joypad guy.

Am still in the progress of playing the first Uncharted game, now that I finally bought it. But from what I've read/heard, it's definetly the zhizzle. The first one definetly is and the sequel seemingly has all the good sides of the first game and moar.

My obsession with Pirates of the Burning Sea continues. Level 28/50 now on the main char, and I keep playing like all my free time. The game probably doesn't have as many different things to do as WoW, but it is much more immersive. update: some screenies

Looks noice. If I'd have the patience to play any other game on PC right now, I could try that. But console's just so much more 'smoother' to play with...

Tastes differ, of course, but I could never understand people who prefer a console to PC

Tastes differ, of course, but I could never understand people who prefer a console to PC Oh, I've been a PC-only mon since 1990 or so, when we got rid of Mega Drive and got a proper pc that was good for gaming. Since then I've only played PSone occasionally at my friend and then PS2, when I bought it myself. But now that me and my better half both wanted a console to mess around with, PS3 arrived. But yesh. Like I've mentioned earlier, my main reason to buy PS2 were God of War games, which are platform-jumping/action-adventure/3rd person/whatever type of games. They really don't make that kind of games for PC, and when they sometimes do, the game's usually a poorly made pc-version of the console one. But of course strategy and FPS games for example, are way better to play on PC. Of course one reason would also be that I haven't upgraded my PC in ages and that it really doesn't run all the new shizzle that well...but once I have too much money, I'll probably pimp up this thing.
